Biography:

Right out of the gate, Sutro's music was highly anticipated. Before even putting out their first release, a demo version of their track "Temptress" was snatched up for use on the first Destination Lounge San Francisco compilation by Revive the Soul. Shortly after, Sutro released their debut EP, How Things Transpire, which was mixed by Grammy nominated Joe Chiccarelli (The Shins, Beck, The White Stripes).
How Things Transpire was hailed as "sexy, liquid, cinematic soul that just happens to have enormous commercial potential" (XLR8R Magazine). Sutro went on to license three of the four tracks on the EP on several compilations such as SF Essentials, Destination Lounge San Francisco 2, Digital Bliss, and the NARAS (Grammy) sponsored Test Press collection, positioning them as one of the premier downtempo electronic acts of SF and the west coast.


Already an iTunes favorite, Sutro has been featured on the Main Page, Indie Spotlight (Dance and Electronic), as well as Staff Favorites worldwide.

They've become internet darlings finding regular rotation on Groovera and SOMA FM streaming radio stations, debuted at #1 on San Francisco station 92.7s “Below Zero” and have met critical acclaim from such highly noted publications as XLR8R and Mix. In addition they hold two top ten positions on social media site, OurStage. Globally, Sutro has been licensed for preloaded mobile content (Nokia) and video games (Tap Tap Revenge 3) podcasts and featured on Giant Step, Tom Thump's “The Enthusiast's Hour,” Dave's Lounge, Well Made Music (UK) and Electrical Lounge (UK).

Led by renowned Producer/Remixer Tyler Stone (vocals/programming) with Patrick Hinds (guitar), Keenan Wayne (bass) and Jesse Gay (keyboards), Sutro has opened for such top name acts as Thievery Corporation, Brazilian Girls, Dengue Fever, Brand New Heavies, Ghostland Observatory, Asobi Seksu, Calexico and Nuspirit Helsinki.
